Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) researchers will propel scientific discovery into DNA mutations, treating human movement disorders and improving stroke outcomes after securing funding from the Australian Government.
Researchers have found that giving mice real-time sounds linked to their movements during a task helps them learn motor skills faster, paving the way for further studies to improve our understanding of motor skills learning.
High school student, Emma Peng, participated in UQ’s Young Changemakers Program last year. The experience prompted her to embark on an internship in the Balbi lab at the Queensland Brain Institute.
