Fundraising to make a difference

After Janice Rushworth’s husband, Alastair, passed away from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in 2016, she asked her friends and family to make a donation to support dementia research instead of flowers at his funeral. 

Janice’s fundraising efforts began then, and in 2017, she established the Alastair Rushworth PhD Scholarship Research Fund. Since then, she has led three groups of fundraisers to trek through beautiful Australian locales, all while raising money to support QBI PhD students in their research of Alzheimer’s disease.
