- A Parkinson's associated gene contributed to a build up of cell debris in the brain. This discovery could shift the focus of Parkinson's treatments.
- QBI researchers have discovered that an extract from the Lion's mane mushroom and its active components largely increase the size of growth cones, which are particularly important for brain cells to sense their environment and establish new connections with other neurons in the brain.
- The Lesleigh Green - Bill and Nancy Green Chair in Dementia Research Endowed Chair is held by Professor Jürgen Götz, the Director of QBI’s Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research.
