- Emeritus Professor Perry Bartlett and Dr Daniel Blackmore from UQ’s Queensland Brain Institute led a longitudinal study to find that high-intensity interval exercise improves brain function in older adults for up to 5 years.
- Dr Gabriela-Oana Bodea in the Faulkner lab has been investigating a specific type of mobile genes, called retrotransposons, linked to several neurological diseases, including schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease.
- Professor Barry Dickson has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in recognition of his contribution to science over 30 years, joining the ranks of the world’s most eminent scientists.
