  • For the first time, Dr Shaam Al Abed and Dr Nathalie Dehorter from the Queensland Brain Institute have proven that a mild stress is enough to trigger post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in mouse models of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • An international collaborative research team, including scientists from the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) has discovered that G-quadraplex DNA (G4-DNA) accumulates in neurons and dynamically controls the activation and repression of genes underlying long-term memory formation.
  • Researchers at UQ's Queensland Brain Institute have confirmed that brainwaves can affect visual perception, particularly when it comes to distinguishing between objects.
