Advances in imaging, disease mechanisms, and therapies for ageing dementia research
The CJCADR Scientific Symposium is a free event that will focus on neurodegeneration-related research with keynote speaker Prof Daniel Razansky (University of Zurich) presenting his ground-breaking work on photoacoustics and with local and national speakers to facilitate discussion and interactions throughout the event.
The Symposium will launch with two ECR-coordinated workshops. These are free to attend and will explore:
- Bioinformatics – Galaxy big data platform
- Design Thinking – Soft skills in the research landscape
Afternoon sessions will conclude with networking drinks and canapes.

Registrations for the ECR workshops close 1 February, 2023.
Workshop 1 is capped and will only be available to the first 30 registrants.
Workshop 1- Research Design Sprint workshop
In this interactive workshop, participants will be assigned to groups to create a research output in a limited timeframe. This can be the abstract for a paper, a draft grant application, the plan for a research project, a synthesis of research gaps in one area, etc. Participants decide what output is mostly useful for them to produce in the limited timeframe and organise their work in the Sprint.
Workshop 2 - Galaxy Big Data Platform
Learn to apply the open-source Galaxy platform to access data integration and analysis tools to make the most of your Big Data. Using Galaxy, you can analyse and interpret datasets such as transcriptomics and proteomics data, without any prior computer programming experience.
