birds and the bees, experts in flight and navigation

QBI's Professor Mandyam 'Srini' Srinivasan talks to ABC's Richard Fidler about the birds and the bess, and how their expert flight abilities can teach us a thing or two about navigation, avoiding crashes and safe landings.

He and his team at the Queensland Brain Institute have built an autonomous aircraft, without GPS or radar, that flies like a bee.

The technology could have widespread applications for surveillance, rescue operations, defence, and planetary exploration.
