Title: Traumatic Brain Injury: From Preclinical Models to Clinical Care
Abstract: This talk will provide an overview of the brain injury research program at the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI), highlighting key preclinical studies and the ongoing clinical projects aimed at understanding brain injury mechanisms and recovery. I will explore early and long-term outcomes following brain injury, with a particular focus on how these injuries progress over time. The critical role of imaging in enhancing our understanding of brain injury management will also be discussed, emphasising how advanced imaging techniques contribute to both research and clinical practice. Additionally, I will introduce the Queensland Brain Injury Collaborative, a multidisciplinary platform designed to bridge the gap between research and clinical care in the field of acquired brain injury.
About Neuroscience Seminars
Neuroscience seminars at the QBI play a major role in the advancement of neuroscience in the Asia-Pacific region. The primary goal of these seminars is to promote excellence in neuroscience through the exchange of ideas, establishing new collaborations and augmenting partnerships already in place.
Seminars in the QBI Auditorium on Level 7 are held on Wednesdays at 12-1pm, which are sometimes simulcast on Zoom (with approval from the speaker). We also occassionally hold seminars from international speakers via Zoom. The days and times of these seminars will vary depending on the time zone of the speaker. Please see each seminar listed below for details.
