Concussion is a common but widely misunderstood form of TBI. Though often viewed as “just a head knock” with symptoms lasting a few days (e.g. headache, dizziness, nausea), many concussion produce months-long symptoms that affect daily living, and repeated concussions might increase the risk of neurodegenerative disease.

Our research includes work to develop new point-of-care diagnostic tools to inform return-to-play decisions, and therapies for people with lingering symptoms.
