The Career Progression for Women program is designed for academic women at Level C who are actively pursuing career development within UQ.
Promoting Women Fellowships
The Promoting Women Fellowships enhance the promotion prospects of academic women in support of UQ's larger strategy to address women's historical under-representation in senior academic roles.
The Fellowship is designed to enable women to focus on being appropriately prepared for their applications for promotion.
UQ Development Fellowships Advancing Female Academics
The UQ Development Fellowships support UQ’s strategic objective to promote the career advancement of women in academia.
All female applicants qualify under the strategic objective of Advancing Female Academics.
The UQ Development Fellowships has a target of 40% of awards for female academics, provided an adequate number of quality applications are received.
Career Advancement for Senior Academic Women
This program is designed to assist high calibre academic women advance in their careers. It is targeted at senior women at Academic Level D wishing to progress to Professorial level. The program aims to broaden participants' understanding of leadership in a global academic context; leverage off existing leadership strengths to build great capacity to lead strategically; increase knowledge of the university professorial promotion process and provides a gender frame of reference to academic leadership.
L’Oréal Australia for Women in Science Fellowships
The L’Oréal Australia for Women in Science Fellowship is intended to assist women who are within five years of their PhD at an Australian or New Zealand academic or research institution to undertake research in their chosen field. Fellowship funds can be used to purchase scientific equipment, pay for child care costs, conference and travel costs, or any other identified means to support you to continue your research.
Advance Queensland Women’s Research Assistance Program (WRAP)
The Advance Queensland Women’s Research Assistance Program (WRAP) supports women in maintaining their research momentum following approved maternity or adoption leave, and encouraging the retention of female researchers in their chosen profession in Queensland. This will be done through the provision of funding to employ another researcher, technician or research/laboratory assistant while the Primary Researcher is on maternity or adoption leave.
Funding up to $26,000 (excluding GST) will be available through the program to support the nominated Primary Researcher.
Applicants are reminded that AQ WRAP requires co-funding by the Applicant Organisation (UQ). UQ Central cash matching arrangements with the local area are available.
LeadHers
Ventures LeadHers is a confidence-building program for all female-identifying students, staff and alumni across all disciplines at UQ.
Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to grow your leadership capabilities, build connections and gain the confidence to take your first steps in your entrepreneurial and leadership journey.
During the program, you will develop the skills to lead with confidence and explore the common challenges most professional female leaders face in their careers.
All female-identifying students, staff and alumni are welcome to apply.
