A free informative session for patients and carers living with Parkinson’s Disease, Dystonia, Essential Tremor and Tourette’s Syndrome.

Session Overview
Professor Silburn will give an overview of Deep Brain Stimulation, while Professor Coyne will discuss a ‘surgery for movement disorders’. DBS nurse Karen O’Maley will present on 'Choosing DBS & Living with DBS for patients / families / support people'.
A ‘question and answer’ segment will be available after each presentation and you’ll have the chance to mingle during light refreshments.

About Parkinson's & Movement Disorders Information Sessions
In these information sessions, our Brisbane based team comprising of neurologist, neuro-surgeon, nurses and researchers reach out to local communities to provide support and information, on Deep Brain Stimulation, specifically for patients and carers of Parkinson’s, Dystonia, Essential Tremor and Tourette’s Syndrome. Those in attendance will be able to speak to our team and hear about Deep Brain Stimulation as a therapy and learn about the ongoing research in this area. It will also provide an opportunity to meet with other patients and carers in your local community.
