
For Dementia Action Week 2026, QBI is bringing together leading researchers from The Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research (CJCADR), The Queensland Chief Health Officer, carers and members of the public for a practical and hopeful conversation about dementia, as well as current and emerging treatment options, underpinned by basic research.
Join experts from UQ's Queensland Brain Institute to discover:
- What dementia means for Queensland’s health system, families and communities
- What does QBI research tell us about Alzheimer’s, brain ageing, cognition and emerging technologies
- What do carers need communities/governments to better understand

Getting to QBI
The Queensland Brain Institute is located in Building 79 at The University of Queensland's St Lucia Campus. It's positioned a bit back from Upland Road, near Chancellors Place.

As parking is limited we suggest, if possible, catching public transport, please note Chancellors Place is the closest bus stop to QBI.

Dementia Action Week is a national initiative that aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and build greater understanding of dementia. It encourages Australians to learn more about the condition and take practical, everyday steps to create more supportive and dementia-friendly communities.
