Dezzie D and the STINGRAYZ
Formed with a passion of the early Rhythms and Blues music of yesteryear, Desley Done, front woman for Dezzie D and the STINGRAYZ aims to stay true to those old school sounds of the 40s, 50s, and 60s rhythm & blues. With her enthusiasm and love for these old school rhythm, blues, and jazz tunes, her intuitive execution of her vocal delivery of this style of music is uplifting. Her believability and vocal storytelling is inspiring.
Established in 2013, international, interstate, and regular appearances at venues in their hometown of Brisbane, Dezzie D and the STINGRAYZ (PDF, 513 KB) have been providing audiences with a unique sight and sound that has become their signature trademark from original music to covered songs from the early Blues, Jazz, and Rhythm & Blues era.

About Lexus Alzheimer's Gala
Every three seconds, someone in the world develops dementia. Almost half a million Australians live with dementia, and this figure is expected to grow exponentially by 2050. Now Australia’s second biggest killer, it rivals cancer as the most feared health condition in the nation.
Recognising that dementia is one of society’s most pressing health problems, UQ’s Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) is committed to advancing dementia research. Home to more than 100 world-leading dementia experts in our Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research (CJCADR), our scientists are focused on translating QBI’s advanced research into clinical treatments and interventions that will transform lives.
This event celebrates the collaborative efforts of all those working to advance understanding of the brain and better support Australians to age well. Join us and make a memorable contribution that will help CJCADR improve the lives of millions of Australians living with dementia and other brain disorders.
