QBIC Seed Funding is turning multidisciplinary ideas into real, fundable brain injury research, with support from the National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland (NIISQ).

Nine projects funded to date

Since 2024, QBIC has awarded nine Seed Funding grants to QBIC members across three rounds. Their projects demonstrate QBIC's research impact across the brain injury continuum, from acute and pre-hospital care to rehabilitation, diagnostics and community reintegration.

QBIC’s seed grants catalyse new multi-institutional collaborations and position teams for larger external funding to advance brain injury research and ultimately improve clinical outcomes for brain injury patients.

QBIC Seed Funding grants were awarded across three rounds:
  • 2024 Round 1

  • 2025 Rounds 1-3

  • 2025 Pitch Blitz

This investment was enabled by NIISQ as QBIC's primary funding body. The last round closed on 1 February 2026.
