Beautiful Minds: a QBI digital exhibition

As part of Creative Brain Week 2026 at GOMA, explore Beautiful Minds, a digital exhibition showcasing Queensland Brain Institute's Art in Neuroscience collection. These extraordinary images captured through cutting-edge imaging technologies reveal the beauty, complexity and wonder of the brain.  

Developed through QBI's Art in Neuroscience initiative, Beautiful Minds celebrates the intersection of research, creativity, and visual storytelling, highlighting how scientific inquiry can produce visuals that are as compelling artistically as they are scientifically. 

Complementing the exhibition, QBI neuroscientists will host a session to explore creativity and the brain, drawing connections between artistic expression, scientific discovery, and the ways we make meaning from the world around us. 

The program will conclude with a panel discussion featuring a neuroscientist from the Queensland Brain Institute alongside fellow Creative Brain Week contributors. Together, they will explore the relationship between art and the brain and body, including how attention, perception, emotion, and dopamine shape our experience of creative works. 

Through Beautiful Minds, visitors are invited to discover not only the science of the brain, but also the artistry within it.
