Title: Conducting clinical trials at UQ: Responsibilities and Requirements

Are you doing research involving human subjects? Have you been thinking about conducting clinical trials as part of your research in the near (or distant!) future? Or are you simply interested in understanding what constitutes a clinical trial? The home of cutting-edge brain research with a high likelihood of generating technologies that would benefit humankind, QBI has the potential to be involved in and planning for clinical trials sooner rather than later. We like to be prepared, and thus we bring together a panel of experts from our own backyard at UQ, who will share their expertise and experience on planning for, conducting and managing clinical trials, including updates on any legislations we need to consider. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and there may even be pop-quizzes with chocolates involved so bring yourselves and interested colleagues to this in-person session. If you already have questions on these matters, please email these to c.luxmanan@uq.edu.au by Monday 15th July 2024 – we will endeavour to supply answers at the seminar.

About Neuroscience Seminars

Neuroscience seminars at the QBI play a major role in the advancement of neuroscience in the Asia-Pacific region. The primary goal of these seminars is to promote excellence in neuroscience through the exchange of ideas, establishing new collaborations and augmenting partnerships already in place.

Seminars in the QBI Auditorium on Level 7 are held on Wednesdays at 12-1pm, which are sometimes simulcast on Zoom (with approval from the speaker). We also occassionally hold seminars from international speakers via Zoom. The days and times of these seminars will vary depending on the time zone of the speaker. Please see each seminar listed below for details.
