In the lead up to the 2019 Bridge to Brisbane, the Queensland Brain Institute is inviting their fundraising heroes, their supporters and members of the community to visit and learn about research into how exercise and a healthy diet impact the brain.
During the information evening, Dr Daniel Blackmore will present his research on how exercise can increase the production of neurons in the ageing brain and improve learning and memory and Dr Tara Walker will discuss how dietary interventions can reduce the loss of brain cells that occurs naturally with ageing and consequently limit cognitive decline.
Marathon favourite and intraining athlete, Clay Dawson, will also share his running tips leading into race day. The talks will be followed by a laboratory tour and then light refreshments.
