From Evidence to Everyday Practice: Implementation Science in Brain Injury Rehabilitation
Despite a robust and growing evidence base for brain injury rehabilitation, a persistent gap remains between what research tells us works and what is actually delivered in clinical practice. Prof Natasha Lannin draws on her extensive expertise in implementation science to examine why evidence-based interventions so often fail to reach the people who need them, exploring the structural, organisational, and individual-level barriers and enablers that shape uptake across rehabilitation services. The session will consider practical implementation frameworks and strategies for bridging the evidence-to-practice divide, with a particular focus on translating research into community and post-acute care settings where the need is greatest.
