Join Professor Pankaj Sah, QBI Director, Professor Debbie Terry AO, UQ Vice Chancellor & President, and keynote speaker, Mr Peter Varghese AO, Chancellor of UQ, and former Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (2012-2016), who will discuss the current geopolitical landscape.
Research at QBI is the critical lifeline to gaining a deeper understanding of the fundamental mechanisms which control brain function and possible solutions to many of the health problems facing the world today.
QBI's Brain Research Endowment Fund will allow some of the best minds to concentrate on curiosity-driven research. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in providing financial backing for this early-stage research, and is a critical pathway to uncovering entirely new approaches to easing the burden of brain-related disorders in the future. QBI has been built on this research foundation and it is integral to our success.

QBI’s scientists, through fundamental research, have made great advances in understanding the brain and its potential, while also moving towards solutions for some of the most devastating neurological diseases, ranging from mental health disorders to neurodegenerative diseases.
The QBI Brain Research Endowment Fund was established to embrace the critical role that philanthropic donations play in progressing new, out-of-the-box ideas that lead to scientific breakthroughs. It is the steadfast commitment to fundamental research that has ultimately led to our current clinical trials of Scanning Ultrasound as a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease and a new drug to prevent the progression of Motor Neuron Disease.
