Introduction to Quantitative Fluorescence Microscopy: from pretty images to measurement of protein dynamics, clustering, and co-localisation will take place on February 22 and 23 at the Queensland Brain Institute.

This series of intensive microscopy tutorials will encompass a diverse range of topics, starting from the fundamentals of fluorescence imaging to advanced analysis methods for multidimensional imaging in living cells. The lectures on the theory and application of fluorescent imaging methods will be interspersed with in-depth open discussions. During these discussions, students will be encouraged to explore topics directly relevant to their own projects, maximizing the practical utility of the course.

A signature component of this course involves discussing standards, project planning, and common sources of error that can result in irreproducibility of results. Our goal is to equip students and researchers with the knowledge and expertise to implement cutting-edge microscopic methods, enabling a wealth of quantitative information for the most comprehensive data interpretation possible.

The program is open to HDR students and postdoctoral researchers with varying levels of expertise; however, the available space is limited to 20 participants. Applications will be assessed based on motivation, the trainees' scientific background, and relevance to their projects.
