Researcher biography

Dr Aung Aung Kywe Moe obtained his undergraduate degree in medicine from Myanmar (Burma) and master degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He did his PhD studies under the supervision of Professor Darryl Eyles and Associate Professor Thomas Burne at Queensland Brain Institute. He was a recipient of UQ International Scholarship (UQI) from The University of Queensland. During his PhD, he investigated how early exposure to antipsychotic drugs during adolescence could alter maturation changes of the adolescent brain, using behavioural assessments, clinically relevant neuroimaging techiques and neurochemical assays.

His research interests are adolescent brain development, neuropsychopharmacology, roles of dopaminergic and serotonergic systems in behaviour and neuropsychiatric disorders, learning and memory and use of neuroimaging and functional assay techniques to address the research questions related to these areas.
