Dr Renata Nedel Pertile

Researcher biography
Renata received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Minho, Portugal, in 2010. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences in Brazil (2004) and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC, Brazil (2007). Renata has over 10 years of experience in using techniques like Animal Cell Culture, Molecular Biology and Tissue Engineering/Biomaterials to conduct experiments in various research fields. More recently, she spent one year working on Animal Behaviour and Genetics at the Cell Biology and Development Department at Federal University of Santa Catarina, studying animal models of anxiety. Since 2014, Renata works at the Queensland Brain Institute in Brisbane, researching the impact of vitamin D deficiency on brain development and the ontogeny of dopaminergic neurons.
